Eye-catcher on the A9

December 2011 – A striking building has risen right next to the A9 motorway near Heemskerk. Its three storeys can accommodate a showroom, offices, businesses or shops. The diamond-shaped tube structure has been treated with the Duplex Route: hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega, followed by powder coating at Poedercoating Wolvega.

It's a special location in every respect. On one side, there is the busy traffic on the A9 and, on the other, an uninterrupted view of the meadows in the direction of Assendelft. So the design includes abundant amounts of glass.

Special architecture

A visible location of this kind requires special architecture, and this can be found in both the front and side facades. The building includes 25-ton steel tubes with a diameter of 508 mm, a wall thickness of 6.3 mm and lengths varying from 4.2 to 8.8 metres. L. Kemper Constructiebedrijf from The Hague wanted the tubes to be treated in the Duplex Route: hot-dip galvanising by Verzinkerij Wolvega, followed by powder coating at Poedercoating Wolvega. So the diamond-shaped tube structure has the best possible protection against corrosion and the building is a genuine eye-catcher.
